PARTNERSHIP CELEBRATES THE HOMIES 25TH ANNIVERSARY WITH A DIGITAL DEBUT ON BLOCKCHAIN!

LOS ANGELES, CA.  [December 09, 2021] – NON-FUNGIBLE ART, Inc. (NFA), is the new blockchain-centric white glove agency that enables IP owners, artists, companies, and brands to transform their business by leveraging the valuable technologies that NFTs offer.  NFA is excited to announce a joint partnership with artist and HOMIES creator David Gonzales, where they will launch CRYPTO HOMIES Series 1 of 13, interactive 3D digital collectible NFTs in commemoration of the toy’s 25th year anniversary Q1 2022.  This will include the original 6 figures including Droopy, Eightball, Mr. Raza, Smiley, Big Loco and Sapo.

In 1998, David Gonzales created HOMIES, which are 2-inch plastic figurines inspired by his personal friends and iconic characters existing in the lowrider and barrio communities of California. Their first public introduction was in an underground comic strip, published by Lowrider Magazine from 1978-1982.  After unfairly being banned by the LAPD, perceived as being a gang-related exploitation of negative stereotypes, HOMIES went on to sell more than 120 million figurines, quarter by quarter, in vending machines worldwide. HOMIES and its expansive roster of the 300+ characters, are now studied in major college curricula and praised for having an overall positive effect on Latino culture and Chicano history.

“I’ve always created characters based on people and stories that surrounded me, and the HOMIES were definitely the most personal,” said HOMIES creator, David Gonzales. “The partnership with NFA comes after hearing the anticipation and demand for a HOMIES NFT launch. I’m certain that the CRYPTO HOMIES will be the latest and hottest collectible in the HOMIES universe.”

The NFA team is working with David Gonzales and his company, Homieshop Properties, LLC to produce interactive 3D digital collectible NFTs of the HOMIES which can be collected, traded and sold on blockchain.  The ‘real world’ will also be able to interact with the HOMIES NFTs in the HOMIES AR App which will be available in the App Store and Google Play in conjunction with the first release.  NFA will periodically gift collectors with complementary HOMIES NFTs airdropped into their digital wallet.  The initial series of HOMIES NFTs will be comprised of the original first series in their original colorways, limited edition and ultra-rare variants including Genesis, blank, silver and gold versions.  Some of these HOMIES will come with special benefits and utility including but not limited to receiving a one-of-a-kind version, gifted, and signed by Gonzales as well as a chance to win a Lowrider car and be the first member of the CRYPTO HOMIES Lowrider Car Club.
